A European Notion

Well, my dear J. is talking once again about the possibility of our moving (permanently) to France. This may be an intellectual's form of "escapist activity" - a romantic alternative to the current political stupidity we are seeing here at home. But, this is a far more exotic idea than he realizes! Having lived in Germany myself for a while, I know that European living can be emotionally & financially challenging - wretched home sickness - until one finds new friends & a new routine. None the less, I am getting excited about our little trip in November and all the countryside adventures we will no doubt have - driving from the conference in cosmopolitan Barcelona to the lovely green heights of Aix en Provence!
